What is MoodTag?
MoodTag is an Australian eCommerce brand selling personalised dog ID tags designed to match your dog’s personality on the front, while keeping your contact details clearly engraved on the back.
MoodTag is Australian-owned and run by dog owners.
Unlike generic pet tags, MoodTag is built around two things:
(1) a live engraving preview (so you can see the front and back before you buy), and
(2) an AI personalisation assistant that suggests short, punchy front quotes based on your dog’s vibe.
MoodTag ships within Australia only. We currently do not ship internationally.
What MoodTag sells
MoodTag sells custom personalised dog ID tags with deep engraving on both sides:
- Front engraving: Dog name + optional personality quote
- Back engraving: Owner name + phone number (for safety and recovery)
Tags are available in multiple shapes and finishes (e.g., Round, Bone, Heart, Military; stainless and coloured finishes). Choose the style you like, then personalise it.

How MoodTag works
Step 1: Choose a shape and finish
Pick the tag shape and colour/finish you prefer.

Step 2: Enter your engraving (or use AI)
You can type your engraving manually, or use the AI assistant to generate front-quote ideas based on your dog’s personality.
Step 3: Preview the engraving (front and back)
Use the front/back toggle to preview how the engraving will look before checkout.
Step 4: Place your order
Your tag is made-to-order with your engraving.
MoodTag AI Personaliser (AI quote helper)
MoodTag includes an optional AI assistant that helps you personalise the front quote.
It asks for:
- Dog name (required)
- Phone number (required)
- Vibe/personality (e.g., Funny, Cute, Tough, Minimal, Custom)
- Owner name (optional)
Then it returns exactly 3 different quote options. You can choose one, regenerate, or edit the quote yourself.

Live engraving preview (see it before you buy)
MoodTag includes a live preview that shows:
- the tag shape + finish image
- the engraving overlay for Front and Back
- a toggle to switch sides
This reduces mistakes and helps customers choose quotes that fit nicely.
Personalisation rules (character limits)
Because engraving space is limited, MoodTag enforces strict limits:
- Dog name: max 12 characters
- Front quote: max 25 characters
- Owner name: max 12 characters
- Phone number: max 15 characters
These limits apply whether you type manually or use AI.

Packaging & protection
Every MoodTag order is packed to help prevent scratches and movement in transit:
Everything is enclosed in a protective sleeve, then packed in a padded bubble mailer for delivery
Your tag is secured on a metal display card
Rings are secured on the metal display card to avoid contact with the tag
Returns and fixes
Because tags are personalised, returns depend on the reason (for example: change-of-mind vs an issue we need to fix). We keep the policy clear and practical. Returns policy
Lifetime Engraving Guarantee

Do I have to use the AI assistant?
No. You can enter your engraving manually. AI is optional.
What does the AI actually do?
It suggests front quote options based on your dog’s vibe, within the engraving limits. You can select, regenerate, or edit.
Can I preview the engraving before buying?
Yes. The product page includes a live preview with a Front/Back toggle.
What should I engrave on a dog ID tag?
At minimum: dog name + phone number. Many customers add a short personality quote on the front. Read the guide
